St. Anne's Shrine: The Stations of the Cross

These are the stations of the cross that are located in St. Anne's Shrine. They were constructed this year at the cost of RM 600,000 (USD 170,000; GBP 100,000) and were all made locally and were blessed and dedicated by Msgr. Stephen Liew, the Vicar General of the Diocese of Penang and Parish Priest of this Church. Debuting at last year's Feast, each of the stations were sponsored by generous benefactors who were tripping over themselves to sponsor the more popular stations such as the Resurrection and the Crucifixion. They were modeled after the one produced by Demetz studios in Italy.

Yup. My sentiments exactly. =)

However, as in Jesus' day, there are still some people who think the cost prohibitive and wasteful, although all the stations were ultimately sponsored.

Oh well. You can please everyone all of the time.
