Dog loses jaw after cruel beating

This made me cry. At the same time, it also made me so angry I could feel steam building up. Probably a combination of my tears and the heat from the fire building within.

What a savage religion, what a savage people, that makes man's best friend 'haram' or non-kosher. Damn these people.

As the owner of a dog myself, I can testify to its gentle and trusting nature. To contemplate, even for a minute, that such a thing could happen, makes me start to violate some commandments in my mind.

Just damn them. These fellas should be punished severely and their cold stone hearts ripped from them and fed to dogs.

Dog loses jaw after cruel beating

JOY, a little black dog whose jaw was surgically removed after he was almost beaten to death, still looks at humans with love.

Despite the cruelty rendered to him, he still looks at people to be petted and loved.

On Dec 2, Sabrina Yeap, managing partner of the Furry Friends Farm (FFF), rescued Joy at the Ki-Park Sri Utara construction site belonging to developer, Kepong Industrial Park Sdn Bhd (KIP Group).

Joy’s jaw had to be surgically removed after it was beaten half to death by Indonesian construction workers.
Joy's lower jaw was dangling and his tongue was hanging out.

Two eyewitnesses said they had seen him being beaten by Indonesian foreign workers who kept calling the dog haram as they continuously beat it.

Joy’s lower jaw was so badly injured that it had to be surgically removed, but its tongue was saved despite having lacerations and blood clots.

Dr Habeeb Rahman Ibramsa, a lecturer in Quran and Sunnah studies at the International Islamic University in Gombak, volunteered to give a talk to the foreign workers who were involved in the beating of Joy.

But, to date, the owners of KIP Group has refused to co-operate.

“I wish to end this ignorance. The Quran does not support violence against animals; I am willing to give lectures, presentations and screen videos that support what I am saying.

“I hope the public, Government officials, foreign workers and others who need to hear this truth will attend,” said Dr Habeeb.

Yeap said FFF was not looking for the government to punish the people who did this to Joy.

“We are calling on the government to support our public education projects by persuading the developer, KIP Group, to allow us to educate their workers.

“Joy may not be able to fetch a ball or toy anymore but he still knows how to show his delight in human companionship,” Yeap said.

A little gathering will be held at the Canteen Restaurant in Plaza Damas to support Joy.

Those interested in attending can also bring a little gift for him.

For details, call Yeap at 016-631 9018.

Dear God! I wonder if there's a circle of hell specially for those who pick on innocent animals in such a horrible way. Reading this makes the things reported in 'Islam Undressed' so much easier to take in.

Haram, of course, being the opposite of halal (non-permitted and permitted, I believe?) where halal fast food places keep popping up left right and centre here in London. More reinforcement for the incoming moslems that their worldview is correct. Great.

Poor, poor dog. Is there no such thing as a prosthetic jaw for a dog, I wonder?

This is a very sad sorry and I pray that the dog doesn't suffer anymore and God will take care of him. But what is even more sad are the arrogant responses that this kind of story results in...

Yes, those workers should have been punished (unless the dog had attacked them and they were acting in self-defense-for instance the word "haram" could be used in a sentence like this: "haram, don't bite him").

But do you honestly believe that this proves that the religion of Islam is savage???? Oh please, something being haram does not mean you treat it like crap...non-kosher means you cannot eat it. Now Mr/Ms "im a dog owner myself", would you want to eat your dog? I think not. And by the religion of Islam it is unlawful to eat the dog and guess what.....it is also unlawful to beat the dog!!! Wow, what savages.

Give me a break, Jesus (God bless his soul) would not be so judgmental of an entire people and would even hear the other side before making judgments on an individual. It turns out those foreign workers didn't know any better or were just plain stupid...perhaps a combination of the two. So pull yourself together and practice what you preach.

Thanks eniyen for dropping by and commenting.

Haram in the Malay/Indonesian Islamic sense has a broader meaning than just being kosher in the dietary sense.

It also means that the thing that is haram is not only illegal but cursed/should be eradicated, whose very existence is an abomination to God. That was what prompted the strong reaction of those workers.

Perhaps you're not familiar with this point.

In this country, dogs, being haram are often the target of enforcement officers. These Muslims officers even go into schools, which are in session, to shoot dogs in front of school children. Imagine the trauma this caused. They shoot dogs inside homes and compounds, even when the animal is licensed.

The savagery of these people is directly linked to their beliefs.

Jesus was and is no big teddy bear in the sky. He was also quite harsh on the Pharisees when their teaching was harmful to the simple folk.

Likewise, this religion teaches many harmful things such as the spreading of Islam by the sword. Just ask the devastated populations of North Africa and Anatolia which were Christian heartlands of old.

Similarly, ask the non-Muslim populations of Kashmir, Southern Philippines, Southern Thailand, Chechnya, Darfur in the Sudan, Albania, just to name a few. Or the families of the victims of 9/11, the Madrid and London bombings.

No, damn u andrew, for your bigoted views on Islam. Don't for a second think Christianity is such a peaceful religion. Come down from your pedestal already and ease with that "I am holier-than-thou" mentality. Read more. Not only your Bible.
