Christian and Muslim martyrdom: the difference

"We want to have children and offer them as soldiers defending Islam,"
"Teach them this: there is nothing more beloved to me than to die as a mujahid (holy warrior)," "Put in their soft tender hearts the zeal of jihad and a love of martyrdom."
-Sheikh Feiz

Another one of those "What the $%^@#!" moments. Send chills down you spine doesn't it? The very thought of the hordes of Muslim children taking up the sword. Sheesh!
What's wrong with these people. Is there no one to regulate them?
Or is this really mainstream?

There's ain't no 'milk of human kindness' in this one.

Mark, over at Deus Caritas Est, and charitable and politically correct as always, has once again posted a thought provoking article on the difference between the concept of martyrdom in Islam and Christianity.

Do check it out.

Let us prayer that the Lord may convert these people and replace their hearts of stone with hearts of flesh and the fire of hatred with the flame of His Divine Love.

Update:

Mr. Smith has been kind enough to provide me with the details of some more exploits of Sheikh Faiz in the UK. Pls to to this link from the excellent Gates of Vienna to see a further discussion and here for the Google Video of the undercover report. The transcript of the report can be found here. Some very disturbing stuff indeed.

Andrew, you may be interested to know that Sheik Faiz also featured in a documentary recently aired here in the UK on 'martyrdom' and other interesting practices being preached here in the UK. Again, no-one responsible and human to regulate them. If you follow this link, you can get to a page allowing you to see the documentary whole, provided it's not been taken down yet.

Also, transcript of above-mentioned documentary can be found here.

Mr. Smith, as always, thanks for the tip. I'm going to update the post with the information that you've provided.

I haven't been reading the news lately so that's why Mark's post came as a bit of a shocker. When I went back to read the papers, I found out that there was quite an uproar over these remarks.

Thank you again.
